THIS WEEK WE HAVE PHIL DE BRUIN TEACHING AT WESTCO’S, FIONA GARDINER TAKING THE BEGINNERS AND CATHERINE BICKLE DJing – How lucky are we??
Phil is well known as a social dancer at events throughout the UK and Europe.
He has been part of the furniture at Petts Wood since he discovered West Coast Swing over eight years ago and his love of the dance is evident in his enthusiasm and commitment to develop his own dancing and that of students attending his classes.
Phil has an obvious passion for WCS, which led him to gain GPDIA instructor status and is qualified to teach Beginners & Intermediate levels. He also has a background in Line, Contemporary, Jazz, Argentine Tango, Ballet, Ballroom and Modern Jive.
Phil is a competent follower, having been the Jill & Jack Champion at New Year’s Swing Fling ’13, so has a good understanding of the mechanics of the dance from both lead and follow. His spinning technique is quite legendary too 😉
Expect to learn effortless and organic connection with interesting but fully leadable patterns taught by a teacher who can relate to the difficulties of learning a new dance as he has been teaching Beginners Classes for 5 years. He takes pride in seeing people improve and develop confidence in the dance and being able to assist in that process.
Private lessons are available by arrangement with the teacher directly or Text 07824 828510 to have your details forwarded

The Daylight Inn is right opposite Petts Wood train station.
There is plenty of parking available outside too in bays around the pub and street parking.
The pub serve food similar to Weatherspoons in style, so you can grab an affordable meal before class if you fancy it.
WestCo’s Petts Wood WCS classes on a Thursday have been running for over eight years with some fabulous teachers through the years. Currently we have a pool of teachers who teach once a month and work together to ensure a cohesive approach with all classes.
The club has recently changed management but the heart of this club has always been the members and it is renowned for being one of the friendliest places to learn WCS…that has not changed and will not.
So come give us a try…you will always have a friendly warm greeting, you are sure to make new friends AND you learn one of the coolest partner dances on the planet!
